ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College softball team picked up two quality wins over USA South West Division foe, Maryville College (TN) on Saturday taking game one 3-1 and game two 6-4.

Sophomore starter Beth Braswell pitched the Bishops to a game one win allowing just one run on 7 hits over 7 complete innings with 3 walks and 8 strikeouts to improve to 5-2 on the year lowering her ERA to 2.66 along with 45 Ks on the season.

Braswell also got the Lady Bishops on the board first with a big two-run single in the first inning scoring sophomores Meredith Smith and Nichole Mooney. After Maryville got one back in the third to make it 2-1, the Bishops would respond in the sixth on freshman Brianna Myers' RBI single.

MC would then attempt to rally themselves in the 7th scoring two two-out runs off Godwin to make it 6-4 but the Bishops would prevail for the sweep.
