Carol Carson begins her 33rd year at North Carolina Wesleyan College. After serving as the Battling Bishops' Head Athletic Trainer for 29 years, the Statesville native was promoted to Assistant Athletics Director for Medical Services in the summer of 2017. In this role, Carson handles student-athlete insurance, medical clearance, physician communication, and drug testing.
Additionally, she serves as both Health Administrator and Senior Woman Administrator with the NCAA and beginning in the fall of 2018, Carson also serves as the Compliance/Eligibility Coordinator with the NCAA.
Carson graduated from East Carolina University in 1983 with a bachelor's degree in School and Community Health with an emphasis in Sports Medicine. She went on to earn her Master's in Health and Physical Education the following year.
In addition to her duties, Carson serves as an instructor within NCWC's Exercise Science department and is actively involved in the Battling Bishops' Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She is a 2006 NCWC Athletics Hall of Fame inductee and resides in Rocky Mount.
